Move over Curt Allain, you have some company.

CONGRATULATIONS to NICK RUSSLER!!! Nick won the Division 3 215lbs. Weight class State Championship this past weekend at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Nick went 4-0 on the weekend and made every Titan fan in attendance very proud. Nick won his first round match Thursday with a very sound 21-8 victory. He came back on Friday with a 13-8 victory in the quarter-finals and a 14-10 victory in the semifinals. In his championship match Nick never trailed and won 6-5. Nick's celebration was very classic as he rolled off his opponent with his arms raised, laid on his back for a few seconds and then leaped to his feet in excitement. Nick was quoted as saying "I earned this." and yes Nick you are correct you did earn this.

Aaron Anuszkiewicz was the only other state qualifier to make it to the podium. Aaron took fourth place, losing in the semi-finals to defending state champion Chris Brown, 5-6. Coincidentally, Chris Brown is also the same wrestler that knocked off Brent A-Z the previous year. Aaron won his first match on Thursday with a 7-2 decision, his quarter-final match on Friday 7-5.  Then after the loss in the semifinals returned on Saturday to get a 8-5 decision before losing in the medal round 2-4.

Caleb Alger got the only other victory for the Titans. Thursday in the first round Caleb defeated his opponent 9-5. Caleb returned on Friday looking to upset #1 ranked and undefeated Ryan Steverson. Caleb was pinned in 1:18, Later in the blood round Caleb was pinned again at 1:55. Charles Loveland was pinned in his opening round match  at 4:44 and lost his next round match 3-6. Chris Bachus lost his first match 4-7 and lost Friday morning 3-5.

If you were able to catch any of the videos or saw any of the pictures of the State Finals you may have noticed that our Titan wrestlers did not have on their normal green singlets. A special TRADITION was started for the TITAN Wrestlers. All qualifiers were presented with a solid GOLD singlet. The singlet had a big LC logo on the leg and on the back was the name and weight of the wrestler. THANKS COACH PUTMAN!!!!!!! for starting this TRADITION.
