Aaron Anuszkiewicz - Player of the Week

Posted Sunday, February 14, 2010 by Dan Alger

Aaron has lead by example all year long. His efforts in the wrestling room getting down to the 160 lb weight class have paid off this week with a District Championship. Aaron got his 100th career victory in the semi-final match against Chris Wellman of Durand with a 7-4 decision. Aaron had a very tough battle in the District finals pulling out a 8-6 victory after being down most of the match. Aaron also had to overcome the officals. As the second period neared the end the ref slapped the mat indicating a pin. However after a conference with the second official it was declared time had expired and the third period would start. Aaron also contributed on Wednesday Team District Championship with two victories. Aaron advances to the regional competition on Saturday at Williamston. Aaron was quoted after the championship match as saying, "That was the hardest I think I have ever wrestled." Aaron has a record this season of 38 - 10, and his career record is 101 - 41. Congratulations Aaron, keep up the hard work.
