Posted Sunday, February 14, 2010 by Dan Alger
Five Titan seniors advanced this weekend to the MHSAA Regionals. Leading the way was Captain Aaron Anuszkiewicz. Aaron was 3-0 on the day and had one of the most exciting matches of the year in the championship match. Aaron had pinned his opponent Justin Johnson from Williamston at the end of the 2nd period. However after a meeting amongst the officials it was ruled that time had expired. Aaron was down in points. Aaron remained calm and continued his determination and ended up with a 8-6 victory in the end. In Aaron’s second match of the day, he joined five of his classmates in the “100 WIN CLUB” with a 7-4 decision against Durand, who he will see on Wednesday at Team Regionals. Aaron’s record for this season is 35 – 10 and career is 101 – 41.

Nick Russler continued his dominance this year with 3 pins, 1:15 in the first match, 1:06 in the semi finals, and 0:49 in the finals, 3 matches and barely over 3 minutes of mat time to take the 215 lb district title. Nick took his record for the year to 45-2 and his career record to 160- 38. Chris Bachus took second place going 2-1 on the day. Chris season record is 35 – 7 and his career mark is 107 – 43. Charles Loveland and Caleb Alger took third place. Charles season record is 35 – 6 and career record is 154 – 41. Caleb season mark is 33 – 12 and his career record is 106 – 69.
